At Island Style, our goal is to produce architectural sculptures that reflect the personality of the homeowners. Folks will know it is your home at a glance because of the exterior character you display.
We build your sculpture from scratch. Tell me what you invision, and I will design something to fit your needs. A sculpture will be shaped in high density industrial styrofoam for your approval. Two coats of stucco base will be applied for strength and durability. From that point I'll need to know what finish you prefer. A single color stucco can be applied or you can choose to have an airbrushed exterior paint finish. Once completed, the sculpture can be applied to new construction exterior wall or to an exhisting surface.
This is not my primary job...yet. I am by trade a Neonatal/Pediatric Flight Nurse, meaning I am An RN that goes to outlying hospitals to pick up sick or injured patients from newborn to appx. 18 yr. old and transport them by ground ambulance, helicopter or fixed wing airplane to our pediatric hospital in south Texas. I do this on weekend stretches of three 24 hr. shifts. Then I am off duty for 8 1/2 days. That is the time I put into my other loves. Sculpture dominates most of that time, but I also make custom table tennis blades (catalystblades.com), bone jewelry & surfer furniture.
Architectural sculpture has opened up a life of creativity I've never before experienced. It has since dominated my thought processes to the extent that I wake up at nights thinking of a new design I want to try. This medium is made for me...I almost go into a trance when I'm working a piece...I put on tropical music & absorb myself in the piece. Please allow me to sculpt a piece for you that reflects your personality to make your house your home.
